An old favourite

in our family is Peter Rabbit.  We read all the books to Christine when she was a little girl and it is the first set of books I  bought for Jamie when he was born.

So when I saw this challenge on Cupcake Inspirations I just had to use a Peter Rabbit image.

I have used First Edition Spring Drop papers.  The leaf pins are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the cardstock and ribbon are from my stash.

A gorgeous freebie

This image is called Boobie Love, and a great reminder of all those brave ladies who have fought breast cancer, some winning their battles and some not so lucky. I have friends on both sides of this horrific disease and remember them all in my prayers.

A New Baby Girl

My neighbours have just had a baby girl, and I have just popped in to see her.  Wow, I have never seen a baby with so much hair - it is really thick and black.  I suppose I am so used to blonde babies as we are all fair in our family.  What age to you have to be to stop feeling broody?
Here is the card I made for her.
I have used Pink Petticoat image and papers.

Isn't it funny how quickly days off work go?

I have had a lovely long weekend. As I had to work Good Friday and Easter Monday, I had Thursday and Friday off - and here we are, it is Sunday already. I must admit I have thoroughly enjoyed my time off spending lots of quality time with Christine and Jamie and I have managed to do some very long needed spring cleaning.
So today is me time again, and I have challenged myself to do something new card wise today. But first here is one I have been working on for a while and is for Kev from Jamie.

A Quick Midweek Card

My friend Amanda has not been feeling too well currently, and I had had already coloured this gorgeous Mo Manning image so along with a lot of scraps from my scrap bag I put this card together for her tonight.

I realised after I sealed the envelope that I had not taken a photo of the inside.  It says "I hope you get "put together again" soon."

Happy Easter everyone

I am so looking forward to our day today.  We are going to Church, then visiting the family and giving Easter Eggs to our grandchildren.  My daughter, Christine, always gives up savoury snacks for Lent as she prefers these to sweet stuff, so she  gets a bag full of her favourite flavours of crisps and chips.  She does not take after her Mum there, nor her Dad either if I remember rightly (we divorced over 26 years ago).

This afternoon, in between cooking and baking, I am going to do some crafting.  It seems ages since I had some me time (although it is only a week in reality). Then get myself ready for work tomorrow.  I work in a calll centre for a mobile telephone company, so no rest for the wicked.

It was my friend Stef's birthday yesterday and here is a little card that I sent her.  Isn't Bella adorable.

A freebie from A Day for Daisies

called Blooming Cherry Branch. These flowers really remind me of Spring and look so beautiful, except when you have to sweep them all up.   I have practiced with my Promarker Bender to get the shading effect on the blossom, and am quite pleased with the result.

Something different

City Crafter challenge have really challenged me this week.  The challenge was to download an image from The Graphics Fairy and to use it on a creation.  I don't usually do vintage, however as my Dad has always been a bird lover (the feathered varity), I thought immediately of a Fathers Day card for him.  I hope you like my card.

Craft Candy

 at The Tiny Blue Butterfly
American Crafts Ribbon Candy

I have now found my  wire to connect my camera to my laptop, so I can start uploading my cards again - as soon as I have enough time.  I am a very busy Grandma now and love to spend as much time as I can with my gorgeous little Jamie.

Its been a busy couple of weeks cardmaking, with several family birthdays and a few orders too, most I have had to send without taking photos, but I'm getting  back into a routine slowly.

Did I or Didn't I...

Yes I did manage to do lots of crafty stuff last weekend, but I mainly consisted of colouring digi stamps.  I have made Kev's birthday card too, but I can't find the cable thingy to download the pics to my laptop.  I'll have a good look over the next few days, cos I am off work from Thursday at 12:00 until Monday at 10:30.  Yayyy.

Chrissie gave me a gorgeous piccy of Jamie last night, and  I am going to get her to down load all her photo's onto my laptop too, so I can start a scrapbook of him.

Tonight I am going out with the girls from work.  We are  going to the Toby Carvery for a meal (we are all doing Slimming World so this is the best choice for us).  Then we are going to the cinema to watch The Vow - a chick flick that will make us all cry. It is the first time I have been out in ages so looking forward to it, with a bit of trepidation.  I am sure it is going to be fun.

T G I Friday

Thank goodness the weekend is nearly upon us.  It has been a long week, with my main positive being I lost 4lbs at Slimming World.  One more 1lb will make a stone since Christmas.  I have 2 colleagues from work, Sharon and Amanda  who are doing this with me and I am finding them a great support, as well as healty competition.  If everything goes to plan we should all get our 1 stone award on Tuesday.

Another Day

wishing that weekend was here.  I am working 10:30 - 8:00 shifts this week, but I need to be in work before 9:00am to get a parking space (or I have to park on the public carpark for £5.00).  That makes for a really long day or an expensive week. And I really am getting the bug to start crafting again.
Tonight is "weigh in" night at Slimming World - I have been really good this week and am hoping for a reasonable loss after only 1/2 a pound last week.  At least Kev knows not to buy me any chocolates and the Olive Tree shrub that I casually remarked would last longer than flowers is only on sale from Thursday.  He did get me a lovely card though.

Getting my mojo back

Looking through some of my favourite blogs is helping me get my mojo back.  I have already missed making cards for my Dad's 80th (yesterday), Rob's 40th tomorrow, and Valentines day tomorrow. Its the first time in years that I have bought cards.
I have Billy, my step grandson's 14th coming up, a dear friend is going to reach 70 shortly and Kev, my husbands birthday is in March, so I had better get cracking.

Back to me

Wow it has been a long time since I have been on here.  Such a lot has happened .  I finished my councilling and am in a better place mentally, but I think the thing that helped me most is Christine's pregnancy with the safe arrival of my gorgeous grandson Jamie.  Sorry I can't share a photo with you, but Christine does not want his photo's published on the internet and I have to adhere to her wishes. He was born on 26th  November 2011, by emergency C-Section and both mother and son are now very well.
